Brighter Strings

I would like to put new strings on my guitar or bass to get a little bit brighter sound. What would you suggest?

Try using a nickel-wound string to start with. If that doesn't do the trick, try using a stainless steel string. The stainless steel should be bright enough. If it isn't, try one of the cryogenically "frozen" strings. That should be the brightest on the market. The various materials and alloys differ from brand to brand, so experiment and try different brands.
