Custom Koa D-41 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar

Simple and elegant. It' a guiding design principle that has existed within the Martin family since the earliest days. The gorgeous koa on this Custom D-41 was selected by Chris Martin IV, and held in reserve for a special project œwhen the time was right. In collaboration with the Custom Shop and R&D, this elegant wood set was utilized in a manner that speaks to the understated design ethos of luxurious exotic tonewood with just enough pearl inlay to draw your eyes into the instrument. It' a great exercise in restraint by not going just far enough with pearl complement the build.

With elegant appointments throughout, this D-41 brings the beautiful mid-range sonic qualities of koa that will pair beautifully with any singer-songwriter in live performance and recording situations. Not too boomy, not too bright - koa is renowned for possessing the mid-range character of mahogany and the treble signatures of maple. This instrument marries exceptional sound with drop-dead gorgeous material, tasteful appointments, and attention to detail with classic dreadnought construction, scalloped bracing and a rare, flamed koa neck.
