When it comes to keyboard amplifiers and monitors, accuracy is critical. Since an electronic instrument does the sound-generation heavy lifting, these speaker systems need to reproduce every nuance of its sound with unmatched clarity. Fortunately, Roland has that requirement handled with its line of keyboard amps and monitors. Roland is known for making some of the world's best keyboards, so it's only fitting that they also make some of the best amps to go with them. Originally founded in 1972, Roland has been setting the standard in audio electronics technology for decades. The creator of the company, Ikutaro Kakehashi, came from a background making combo organs, effects pedals and guitar amplifiers. That history had a strong influence on Roland over the years, with a continued focus on keyboards and amps that has come full circle to produce the excellent amplifiers and monitors that you'll find here.
Roland's flagship keyboard amps are the KC series, which range in size and power from the compact 40W KC-60 to the immensely powerful 320W KC-880. With the KC-150 and larger models, you also have the option of adding Roland's KCW-1 subwoofer to beef up your low-end. You can mix up to three channels on the KC-60 and four on the other units, and the KC-880 goes a step further with reverb, chorus, tremolo and rotary DSP effects. Whatever you need out of your amp, Roland's KC series is ready to provide.
If what you need is a monitor for the studio or the stage, on the other hand, check out the CM-30 Cube Monitor. First released in 2004, this portable monitor is one of Roland's most popular speakers. The CM-30 comes loaded with an onboard equalizer and enough inputs to connect a microphone, keyboard, rhythm machine and CD or digital music player all at the same time. You can also link multiple CM-30 monitors together to give your keyboard a true stereo configuration, perfect for your home recording studio.
The sound and build quality we've come to expect from Roland is evident in all of these keyboard amplifiers and monitors, which means that finding the right one is simply a matter of deciding what's best for you. Choose the speaker configuration, power level and setup that suits your needs and you can't go wrong with Roland.
