Overview

No, it's not a showerhead, it's a pewter-grill harp mic with a vintage crystal sound.

The coolest thing to happen since carbon and crystal were put with brass, wood, and wind. The Shaker Retro Rocket is a truly beautiful harmonica microphone that's basically a no-nonsense, bullet-type Shaker mic retaining the qualities that made the great original bullet mics so special.

The Retro Rocket harmonica mic has all the snap, crackle, and pop that any blues/rock harp player could want. It's the real deal”a cast metal alloy body with a black crinkle powder coat finish, and high-output crystal element. It features a solid pewter grill and a 1/4" output connector. It's 40% smaller than traditional bullet type mics, and is ergonomically shaped to give harp players an in your face, aggressive tone. This is one high-output microphone with over-the-edge dynamics and a truckload of harmonic overtones. According to Retro Rocket endorsers, this mic rejects feedback better than any other bullet mic made.

Shaker Harmonica Microphones are part of a complex music making system, one that includes the harmonica, the player's hands, the microphone, the amp, and the player's personal techniques. Traditional methods of measuring response and behavior become pretty much irrelevant because Shaker's don't fit strictly into the established categories of polar patterns. By using a sampling of the harmonica's sound and directing it through acoustic ports into a volume-tuned chamber, Shaker harp mics become, in essence, miniature hand-held recording studios. This is known as Shaker GNS technology, or good noise sampling, resulting in great tone, extreme technique sensitivity, and tremendous feedback. Designed and engineered by Shakey Joe, these mics are totally handmade in the US and use as many American-made parts as possible. They're made in the Arizona desert by harp players, for harp players.
