The Maranello '61 Guitar features a spruce top and mahogany back and sides. A mahogany set-in neck with rosewood fingerboard, 2 Wilkinson humbucker pickups and a vintage vibrato bridge have looks and sound to spare!
Echoing one of the most collectible and rare '60s guitars, but with sound and playability demanded by today's musician. If you dare to be different, this is the guitar for you.
Trev Wilkinson, Italia's famed guitar designer talks about his pickups for Italia guitars:
"Wilkinson pickups" were first designed for my "Fret-King" range of guitars. Not all of the pickups in the ranges are exact vintage replicas. I have taken the liberty of making some subtle changes to make them more appropriate for todays' playing styles. All Wilkinson pickups are wound for "Tone" -- balance is important to me -- high frequencies should sparkle but not be thin -- mids, warm and defined, and lower frequencies tight and articulate". Case sold separately.
