Designed with authentic weighted action, the ivory feel of the 88-note PHA-4 keyboard provides natural piano touch. The controls are sturdy and smooth, and escapement gives it concert grand response. Escapement provides that authentic “click” of the hammer. Plus, the onboard speaker system can really project in a space, saving you the hassle of connecting external gear.

SuperNATURAL and legacy synth sounds

Building on its authentic design, the RD-88 offers plenty of curated sounds from Roland’s legacy acoustic and electric flagship synthesizers. Plus, you’ll find sounds from the newly developed SuperNATURAL pianos as well as electric pianos based on the classic RD Series. There’s plenty of sound to love in the RD-88’s massive sound library.

Intuitive layout, configurable zones and soft synth

Beyond the authentic action and legacy sounds, the RD-88 offers players an intuitive layout. Clearly marked controls are close at hand, so it’s easy to shape your sound with added effects. Plus, the RD-88 offers three configurable zones for internal sounds or integrated soft synths from Apple MainStage. Use the zones to duplicate a track or mix in those soft synths with Roland’s extensive library.
