About Martin 6-String Acoustic Guitars

Martin 6-string acoustic guitars are an American icon. While there are many builders in the modern acoustic guitar arena, there’s something about a 6-string Martin acoustic you can’t find anywhere else. While a good part of that is the art of guitar making that’s been passed down through the generations, there’s science at work as well.

Advancements like VTS (Vintage Tone System) technology give Martin 6-string acoustic guitars aged tone right out of the box. Unless you have an heirloom acoustic at home, or regular access a museum of 1930’s Martin 6-string guitars (like you’ll find at the Martin Guitars Factory in Nazareth, Penn.), a guitar with a VTS top is the closest to vintage it gets. And you’ll only find VTS tops on Martin guitars.

Martin 6-string acoustic guitars are built either in Nazareth, Penn., or at Martin’s longtime factory in Mexico. US-made models include the Standard, Modern Deluxe, Authentic and Performing Artist Series, as well as the discontinued Vintage Series. Martin’s Made-in-Mexico lineup of 6-string acoustic guitars includes the X Series, Road Series and DJr Series, as well as Little Martin guitars. They offer unmistakable Martin 6-string tone and vibe in a more affordable package.
