The DiMarzio Rainmaker neck humbucker electric guitar pickup was developed for John Petrucci of Dream Theater, who says the new Rainmaker and Dreamcatcher pickups are “the quintessential tone-monsters we’ve been working on together since our very first collaboration, and the end result is absolutely mind-blowing."

Although designed specifically for John’s neck-through signature Ernie Ball Music Man Majesty guitar, this Rainmaker neck pickup can bring an element of his unique sound to any electric guitar setup, with increased sensitivity to pick attack and more dynamic range overall. John requested an element of "bluesy" tone from this humbucker without losing the distinctive style he made famous with Dream Theater. As a result, the Rainmaker neck pickup has an interesting blend of both warmer highs and more open mids, creating a sweet overdriven sound that can clean up when the volume is rolled down and remains solid and articulate with high gain.
