Takamine was founded in 1962 and quickly established a reputation for steel-string acoustic guitars that made them a prominent player in the international guitar industry. While Takamine would go on to pioneer the acoustic-electric guitar in the 1970s, they're still well-known for their outstanding pure acoustics. Whether you're looking for your first guitar or you're an experienced pro, a Takamine acoustic guitar is a good choice.  A range of different body styles means that there's a Takamine guitar for any player. If you prefer the loud, bold tone of a dreadnought body, there are plenty of great choices in the "GD" series. The GD30 is one example, with a solid spruce top and mahogany back to produce rich, resonant sound well-suited for any genre of music. For a cutaway dreadnought that allows unrestricted access to every single fret, look no further than the Takamine GD93 guitar.

Or, if you would rather have something with a more classic guitar shape, check out Takamine's "GN" models. These are made of the same beautiful-sounding combination of tonewoods as the dreadnoughts, but with a more vintage styling and sound. The combination of body style and performance level is up to your own preferences and skills. If you're a beginner, a few suggestions to start out with are the GD10 and GD20 dreadnoughts or the compact GN30. For intermediate players, take a look at the GD93 and GN51.

No matter which Takamine acoustic guitar you choose, you'll be adding your name to a long list of guitarists who have played these instruments. Some of the other names on that list include Bruce Springsteen, Pete Townshend, Avril Lavigne, David Bowie and Garth Brooks, which says a lot about how versatile these guitars can be. Whatever your style, a Takamine acoustic is ready to play it.
