The Bad Cat Rubicon 25W tube guitar head provides a versatile high-gain tone for serious guitarists. This compact yet powerful amp features a dual-channel preamp with two switchable gain modes in each channel, letting you dial in crystal-clear cleans, bluesy overdrive or metal distortion. Channel 1 offers nuanced clean tones that can be pushed into overdrive, while Channel 2 delivers aggressive high-gain tones inspired by Bad Cat's Lynx and Hot Cat amps. With global EQ, master volume and presence controls, you have full control over your tone. The EL84 power section can be switched between 25W for gigging and 1W for recording, providing flexible output for any situation.
Shape Your Tone
The Rubicon gives you complete tonal control. Choose between Channel 1's clean or overdriven tones or Channel 2's articulate high-gain tones. Each channel has two gain modes so you can go from a crisp clean to a roaring overdrive. The global 3-band EQ lets you tweak frequencies to your liking. When you've dialed in your perfect tone, save it to one of six presets using the onboard MIDI controller.
Built for Stage and Studio
With its compact size and switchable 25W or 1W power, the Rubicon works for both live performance and recording. Crank it up to 25W for gigging with a loud, full tone. For recording or practice, switch to 1W for cranked tube tone at lower volumes. The Rubicon also features an XLR DI out, effects loop and headphone out for direct recording or silent practicing.
Realistic Cabinet Simulation
The Rubicon includes Two Notes Torpedo technology for realistic cabinet simulation using impulse responses (IRs). Load up to six IRs of your favorite guitar cabinets. The USB connection lets you load IRs from your computer. Toggle between IRs using the MIDI controller to emulate different cabinets for the tone you need. The cabinet simulation also works with the XLR DI out for direct recording with the sound of a real cabinet.
