The Catalinbread SideArm overdrive pedal gives you vintage-inspired tones from the 1970s to shape your sound. Part of the Starcrash 70's Collection, the SideArm recreates the classic "green" overdrive circuit with enhanced controls for crafting your ideal drive. Whether you want to boost your amp for a subtle breakup or push it into saturated distortion, the SideArm delivers.
Tweak your midrange for a custom drive
The SideArm features an intuitive Mids control that lets you boost or scoop the 720Hz frequency range. Turn it up to accentuate the mid hump that gives overdrives their signature punch or turn it down for a more open and transparent tone. With the Mids control centered, the pedal provides a balanced overdrive that complements most amps and guitars.
Shape your tone with a tilt EQ
The Tone control on the SideArm is a tilt EQ that shifts the frequency response up or down around 1kHz. Turn the Tone knob up to boost highs and cut lows, adding crispness and clarity. Turn it down to boost lows and cut highs for a warmer, fuller tone. At noon the Tone control leaves the frequency response balanced so you can use the Mids knob to focus on the midrange.
Go from clean to mean with the Drive knob
The Drive control on the SideArm spans a wide range of overdrive, from just breaking up your amp's clean channel to pushing it into heavily saturated distortion. Start with the Drive around 9 o'clock for a touch of grit to boost your solos, then crank it up for chunky rhythm tones and searing leads. The Drive has more gain on tap than a stock overdrive circuit for high-output pickups and amps.
