The EVH 5150 Iconic Series EL34 80W guitar amp head gives you Eddie Van Halen's legendary high-gain tone in a compact all-tube amp head. Designed by renowned amp guru James Brown and based on the revered 5150 III, this amp delivers the searing distortion and tight low end that defined Eddie's groundbreaking sound. Powered by four EL34 tubes and driven by ECC83 preamp tubes, it provides modern guitarists with a simple yet devastating tone.
Two High-Gain Channels with Added Voicings
This amp features two independent channels, each with an extra voicing for expanded tonal possibilities. The Green channel's overdrive button takes you from pristine cleans to saturated overdrive. The Red channel's burn button engages molten distortion ideal for face-melting solos. Dedicated gain and volume controls on each channel let you match levels when switching between clean and overdriven tones.
Shape Your Tone with Shared EQ and Global Controls
The shared EQ section provides bass, mid and treble controls to sculpt your core tone. The global resonance and presence knobs fine-tune low and high frequencies. There's also a reverb control to add dimension to your sound. These shared controls make it easy to craft your signature sound.
Versatile Features for Stage and Studio
This amp includes a noise gate to eliminate hiss, an effects loop for patching in pedals and dual parallel speaker outs to run multiple cabs. The 1⁄4 power switch reduces wattage for cranked tones at lower volumes. The DI out with power amp mute delivers your tone directly to FOH or recording interfaces. A two-button footswitch controls channel switching, reverb and boost functions.
