Can You Imagine was written in response to the war in Afghanistan and to the many civilians, especially children, who become displaced persons. The composer had this to say, I wanted to respond with a composition for children - about children - a work that would inspire us to create a better future for them. Without the beauty of children in our lives...I can't imagine.
