With the Classic Oak series, Ludwig designed a proprietary 5-ply, 6.5 mm shell combining a maple core with plies of American red oak on the inner and outer layers. This formula produces unrivaled projection and a signature Ludwig sound. The shells are constructed using Ludwig's proprietary RFST molding process with the same historic bladder molds used for legends like Ringo Starr and John Bonham. Paired with modern bonding techniques, this ensures maximum durability and acoustic integrity.
