The Fender Custom Shop Joe Strummer Telecaster brings the raw, rebellious spirit of the legendary Clash frontman to life. Masterbuilt by Paul Waller, this limited-edition guitar authentically recreates Strummer's own 1966 Telecaster that defined the punk rock movement. Its resonant alder body and mid-'60s C-profile maple neck give you the worn-in feel of a road-tested classic. The round-laminated rosewood fingerboard provides smooth playability for power chords and razor-sharp riffs.
A Road-Tested Piece of Punk Heritage
The resonant alder body and worn mid-'60s "C"-shaped neck give you the feeling of holding a well-loved vintage instrument. Finished in Aged Black over Three-Color Sunburst lacquer and featuring a matching painted pickguard, every nick, dent and scratch acquired over decades of punk performance is faithfully reproduced. Two Josefina Campos hand-wound '67 Telecaster pickups provide the same snarling, attitude-filled tone that fueled The Clash's revolutionary anthems.
Built to Joe Strummer's Spec
From the 7.25" radius rosewood fingerboard and Jescar 45085 frets to the 6-saddle bridge, Schaller tuners and brass nut, no detail was overlooked in recreating Strummer's Telecaster. The premium components are all era-correct, giving this guitar the performance and feel of a classic '60s Fender. The modern Tele wiring and 3-way switch provide contemporary playability while maintaining vintage spirit.
Raw, Expressive Tones
Josefina Campos hand-wound '67 Telecaster pickups deliver the same snarling, rebellious tones that defined The Clash's sound. With a three-way switch, you can access a range of sounds from punchy bridge pickup aggression to throaty neck pickup warmth. Modern Tele wiring provides additional tonal control for crafting your own signature punk rock voice.
