The Fender Custom Shop will make any guitarist feel like a kid in a candy store. Located within the Fender headquarters in Corona, California, the Fender Custom Shop has been nicknamed "The Dream Factory", and it’s pretty easy to see why. By building some of the finest musical equipment to ever grace a stage, the Fender Custom Shop is where the truly elite go for their instruments. The Fender Custom shop has been building absolutely breathtaking guitars since 1987. Working with names such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and David Gilmour, the shop takes suggestions and input from these artists and incorporates them into their instruments. In addition to building brand new instruments, the Fender Custom Shop does painstaking research to replicate iconic instruments from the rich history of the electric guitar.
Now these amazing instruments are available to you, meaning you can own your own storied piece of Fender’s history. Each of these guitars is built under the supervision of a single luthier, meaning they’re all one-of-a-kind works of art. So which one is right for you? Well, that might be as easy as choosing your favorite guitarist. Are you a fan of Procol Harum guitarist Robin Trower? Then check out his Stratocaster Electric Guitar. Maybe you’re more of a Rory Gallagher fan? Then you’ll love his Signature Electric Guitar, which is practically a near perfect clone of his legendary Strat.
If you’re more interested in an era than a specific artist, the Fender Custom Shop builds plenty of instruments that will help you recreate the time period of your choosing brilliantly. If you’re a fan of the sound of the sixties, for example, you’ll definitely adore the '60s Strat FMT Master Built by Greg Fessler. The impeccable attention to detail is what sets this Strat apart, as well as the gorgeous ash body. If the fifties are more your style, have a look at the 1959 Esquire Custom Relic Electric Guitar Master Built by Dale Wilson. This masterpiece is such a spot-on relic that you’ll never believe it’s a brand new guitar. These guitars are sure to become heirlooms, passed down from generation to generation.
Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t take a moment to mention the crowning achievement of the Fender Custom Shop, the Stevie Ray Vaughan Lenny Tribute Stratocaster Electric Guitar. This guitar is an absolute love letter to the legendary bluesman. Identical down to the smallest of details, this guitar even features the customized neck that was a gift from ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and an autograph from legendary baseball great, Mickey Mantle on the back. An amazing testament to the craftsmanship of the Fender Custom Shop, this guitar has to be seen to be believed.
The Fender Custom Shop is truly a musician’s playground. Hand-crafted, these guitars will change the way you see and play musical instruments forever.
