Overview

1960s classic with Tobacco Sunburst finish and Fishman electronics.

The Epiphone Hummingbird EC Studio Limited-Edition acoustic-electric guitar brings back the classic 1960s square-shouldered dreadnought in an updated package, ready for today's player. With the same sweet acoustic tone and comfortable feel that made the original a rock 'n roll legend, the Hummingbird EC Studio features a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides for balanced resonance. The slim taper mahogany neck feels smooth and inviting. Now it's equipped with the Fishman Sonitone pickup and preamp so you can plug in and amplify that vintage acoustic tone. Rediscover an iconic sound with the Hummingbird EC Studio.

Crafted With Spruce and Mahogany for Vintage Tone

The Hummingbird EC Studio carries over the same premium tonewoods from the '60s original that contribute to its legendary sound. The solid spruce top produces clear, projecting treble tones and balanced resonance across the tonal spectrum. The mahogany back and sides have a warm, woody character that complements the top. Together, they create the Hummingbird's signature balanced and organic acoustic voice that helped define the rock 'n roll sound. The slim mahogany neck joins the body at the 14th fret, providing comfortable upper fret access.

Fishman Sonitone Pickup and Preamp for Plugged-in Performance

While the Hummingbird EC Studio sounds fantastic all on its own, the built-in Fishman Sonitone pickup and preamp let you plug into an amplifier or PA system. The undersaddle transducer accurately captures the guitar's natural acoustic tone. The preamp gives you volume and tone shaping control, including a phase switch to help eliminate feedback at higher volumes. Feel free to crank up that vintage Hummingbird tone to fill larger venues with ease.

Comfort With Slim Taper Mahogany Neck

The Hummingbird EC Studio's mahogany neck has a comfortable slim taper profile that feels smooth and inviting. The slim taper design reduces neck thickness as you move up the neck, increasing playability and reducing hand fatigue during long practice or gigging sessions. The smooth satin finish lets your hands glide effortlessly up and down the pau ferro fingerboard. An adjustable truss rod keeps the neck relief dialed in how you like it. Play your heart out on the Hummingbird EC Studio.

Other Premium Touches for Enhanced Playability

The Hummingbird EC Studio includes other contemporary appointments while preserving the classic vibe. The compensated bone nut and saddle help improve intonation across the neck and fingerboard. High-ratio enclosed die-cast tuners make it a breeze to keep the guitar in tune. The iconic pickguard and body binding pay homage to the original. With its premium features and Fishman electronics, the Hummingbird EC Studio gives you the best of both worlds—vintage acoustic tone with modern playability.
