Overview

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Mahogany Body, Mahogany Neck, Indian Laurel Fingerboard and 2 Alnico Classic PRO Pickups

As part of Epiphone's new Inspired by Gibson Collection, the SG Standard is steeped in rock and roll history. It takes the features that we here at Musician's Friend love about the classic Gibson SG and adds a modern spin to it. It starts with a solid mahogany body and mahogany neck to give you the warmth and depth that you crave. Add on an Indian laurel fingerboard and two Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers and you've got a high-quality yet affordable instrument.

Warm, Rich Tone and Plenty of Sustain

Between the mahogany body and SlimTaper mahogany neck, you'll get a warm and rich tone and plenty of sustain. The all-mahogany body provides a warm resonance and incredible depth, all packaged in a comfortably weighted guitar. The SlimTaper D mahogany neck extends that depth, adding on an Indian laurel fingerboard to bring even more flavor to your sound.

Powerful Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers

The pair of Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers that powers the Epiphone SG Standard gives it a classic humbucker sound. If you’re looking for a thick, fat but thunderous tone, the Epiphone SG Standard can deliver just that. And, you won’t just be tied to rock and roll as this guitar is equipped to play all types of music, including jazz, metal, prog and more.

Packed with Premium Hardware

Rounding out the Epiphone SG Standard is its premium hardware, including a Graph Tech nut, stopbar tailpiece, LockTone ABR tune-o-matic bridge and Grover Rotomatic machine heads, which ensure you'll always stay in tune.

Inspired by a Classic

Though its inspired by a Gibson classic, the Epiphone SG Standard is built for the modern player. With high-quality and upgraded electronics, premium hardware and distinctive look, this Inspired by Gibson Collection guitar will have you sounding like the rock icons that once inspired you.
