Overview

An aggressive metal machine with versatile modern tones.

The Schecter Guitar Research PT Black Ops electric guitar turns tradition on its head, fusing classic metal ingredients into a modern, high-performance instrument. Blending a slim, fast neck, ebony fingerboard and resonant mahogany body with Fishman's genre-defining Fluence Modern humbucker and blacked-out aggressive styling, the Black Ops brings crushing tones and effortless playability to metal guitarists. Its three unique Fluence voicings deliver the clarity and articulation needed to cut through a mix.

Modern and Versatile Fluence Bridge Pickup With 3 Voicings

At the heart of the Black Ops' flexible tone is Fishman's Fluence Modern humbucker, which utilizes innovative coil-splitting technology to offer three distinct voicings. The default Modern setting is tight and articulate, perfect for djent or prog. Switch to Classic for warm, vintage humbucker character. Split the coils into Single-coil mode for glassy Strat-like tones. With the Black Ops' master volume and 3-way toggle, it's easy to switch between voicings for versatile tones.

Slim, Fast Mahogany Neck Ideal for Speed and Comfort

The Black Ops' mahogany neck has a slim "Thin C" profile that's ideal for fast lead work. Its smooth satin finish and narrow 1.65" nut width make string-skipping a breeze. The 14" radius ebony fingerboard has 24 extra jumbo stainless steel frets for buttery bends. Dual carbon fiber reinforcement rods add stability and sustain. Overall, the Black Ops neck offers outstanding comfort, speed and performance.

Lightweight, Resonant Mahogany Body

The Black Ops' mahogany body keeps weight down for comfort during long gigs, while still offering the characteristic warmth and resonance mahogany is known for. The smooth satin finish lets notes ring clearly. Inside, the body is chambered to further reduce weight without sacrificing tone. The result is a remarkably lightweight, resonant and lively feel that makes the Black Ops a joy to play.

Blacked-Out, Aggressive Metal Styling

From its name to its all-black hardware and open pore satin finish, the Black Ops oozes aggressive metal attitude. The iconic Schecter "bat" inlays on its ebony fingerboard reinforce the dark vibe. Visually, everything about this ax screams heavy music. Sonically, it delivers the versatile tones today's metal guitarists demand. Pick up the Black Ops to inject serious aggression into your sound.
