Special Edition Riot 8 8-String Electric Guitar

Just like its Riot bass brothers, the Schecter Special Edition Riot 8 8-String is an ultracomfortable, ultraplayable electric with a 26-1/2" scale designed for down tuning. The 3-piece mahogany neck has graphite rods for extra strength and sustain while the mahogany body has a satin black finish. This 8-string features deep cutaways which allow free access to the upper 24X jumbo frets on the rosewood fretboard. At the heart of the Special Edition Riot 8 are the active EMG-808 pickups.

ROTOMATICS WITH 18:1 GEAR RATIO (102-18 SERIES) The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination


Finger Board -
Rosewood
The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.


Pickups -
EMG Active 808
The 707 has been leading the pack of 7-string guitar pickups since its debut in 2001, and is now available for the 8-String! Before this model was introduced, existing 8-string pickups sounded muddy and dull on the low F# string, especially when trying to hit artificial and natural harmonics, but the 808 eliminates all those problems. Featuring Alnico V loaded wide aperture coils we were able to beef up that Low F# tone and at the same time provide a more responsive super tight overall sound.

Hipshot Custom-8 bridge was custom designed by Schecter with a smaller F# & B saddles and offset string thru location on F#/B/E for optimum Intonation. STAINLESS STEEL saddles. Experience brighter highs, more resonant lows.
