Blend vintage craftsmanship and modern technology with the Takamine P7D dreadnought.
The Takamine P7D Pro Series dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar combines tradition with innovation. Designed for serious guitarists, its solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides produce a bold, balanced tone with shimmering highs and tight lows. The proprietary Cool Tube preamp lets you shape your sound with tube-like warmth or crisp brilliance at the turn of a knob. Playability is enhanced by an asymmetrical neck and split bone saddle. Premium appointments like ebony binding, abalone inlays and gold tuners complete this pro-level instrument.
Resonant Tonewoods Project Powerfully
Takamine chose solid spruce and rosewood for the P7D's top, back and sides to generate volume and clarity. The spruce top's stiff, lightweight properties produce a bright tone with rich overtones. Rosewood's density adds warmth, punch and sustain. When you strum the P7D, these tonewoods work together to project a bold, balanced voice with shimmering treble and tight bass. For stage and studio, its resonant dreadnought body cuts through the mix with ease.
Shape Your Sound With the Cool Tube Preamp
Takamine's proprietary Cool Tube preamp gives you tube-like tone at the turn of a knob. In Bright mode, the P7D shines with crisp articulation and definition. Switch to Warm mode for a mellower sound with rounded highs and fuller lows. The 3-band EQ provides precise control over bass, midrange and treble frequencies. You can also blend in the sound of an auxiliary pickup using the Aux volume control. An onboard tuner ensures you're in tune when it's time to perform.
Playability Enhancing Touches
The P7D's asymmetrical neck profile and split bone saddle are shaped for comfort and accuracy. The neck tapers to a shallower depth on the treble side, fitting your hand's natural curve. The split saddle allows precise intonation adjustments for optimal intonation up and down the fingerboard. These design elements work together to make the P7D feel like an extension of your hands.
Premium Appointments Complement the Tone
With ebony binding, abalone inlays and gold tuners, the P7D looks as good as it sounds. The ebony binding and bridge provide a sleek accent, while the abalone "snowflake" position markers give a touch of luxury. Gold tuners with pearloid buttons complete the upscale aesthetic. All together, these premium details complement the P7D's resonant tone and pro-level performance.
