Overview

The warmth of Western red cedar and sapele in an accessible single-cutaway design.

A cedar top paired with mahogany back and sides yields a captivating tone profile on this 500 Series 514ce-N Grand Auditorium Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar. Cedar adds played-in warmth to mahogany' focused midrange, and cedar' responsiveness to the nylon strings will produce a nice articulation for fingerstyle players and light strummers. Taylor' slim, easy-playing necks, a Venetian cutaway, and onboard ES-N electronics, update the classical voice with modern amenities. Featured appointments include an grained ivoroid Century fretboard inlay, grained ivoroid binding and rosette, and an all-gloss body. The guitar ships in a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.

Grand Auditorium
The most versatile and popular of Taylor' guitar shapes. Its well-defined midrange contributes to a clear and balanced tone. It' responsive enough for fingerstyle players and powerful enough for pickers and strummers to get a lively response. Think of it as a jack of all trades.

Western Red Cedar
Cedar is less dense than spruce, and its relative softness adds warmth to a guitar' tone, especially for players with a softer touch, like fingerstylists or light to moderate strummers and pickers. Players with a strong attack are often better paired with spruce.

Sapele
Sapele' tonal output is consistent and balanced across the tonal spectrum, making it compatible with a diverse range of playing styles. It' comparable to mahogany but its higher density tends to produce a slightly brighter sound with more top-end shimmer.

ES-N
Like the the ES-T, The ES-N is a single-source, under-saddle transducer, but the preamp design and tone controls were customized to complement the nylon-string voice. The standard ES control knobs enable plenty of tone shaping and preserve the natural design aesthetic.
