Overview

Powerhouse wavetable synth with 24-voice polyphony and 4-part multi-timbral capability.

Experience the future of wavetable synthesis with the powerful 3rd Wave Advanced Wavetable Synthesizer. With an epic, modern sound and 24-voice polyphony, you get the capability of four independent synthesizers in one instrument. Each of the three oscillators per voice offers classic PPG-era wavetables, high-resolution harmonically complex wavetables and analog-modeled waveforms—an expansive palette to sculpt your ideal tones.

Craft Limitless Custom Waveforms

At the core of the 3rd Wave's unique voice are three oscillators per voice, each capable of classic PPG-era wavetables, modern high-resolution wavetables or analog-modeled waveforms. But the real game-changer is the onboard Wavemaker—allowing you to generate up to 64 custom user wavetables from any audio input. Simply connect a sound source, capture the sample and instantly transform it into a wavetable ready for morphing and modulation. This innovative workflow expands wavetable synthesis into an infinite creative canvas.

Unleash Multi-Timbral Performance Power

With its 24-voice polyphony and 4-part multi-timbral capability, the 3rd Wave is like having four independent synthesizers under your command. Layer up to four radically different sounds—each with its own sequence and dual effects—or craft keyboard splits with distinct tones across multiple zones. Each stereo part offers independent panning, volume and dedicated outputs for seamless integration into your recording setup. When combined with the 3-oscillator voices, you can forge evolving, hyper-dimensional soundscapes of unimaginable complexity.

Shape Rich Analog Warmth

While rooted in digital wavetable synthesis, the 3rd Wave brings the warmth of true analog circuitry into the equation. Its filter section houses not one but two premium filters—the iconic, punchy Dave Rossum-designed 2140 analog low-pass filter with variable saturation and a versatile SEM-style state-variable filter. Route these filters in series for thick, harmonically intricate tones. With full modulation over the cutoff, resonance and filter routing, you'll sculpt each sound into an organic, living entity.

Sequence Notes, Songs and Parameters

The 3rd Wave's integrated sequencer lets you program intricate patterns, melodic lines and modulation sequences that bring your sounds to life. Record parameter movements in real-time for rhythmically evolving textures or construct entire multi-part songs and arrangements—all from this singular powerhouse synth.

Extensive Modulation and Effects Processing

The 3rd Wave's modulation capabilities are simply staggering. Every oscillator has its own loopable 6-stage wave envelope and four freely assignable ADSR+Delay envelopes provide precise contour control. Explore rhythmic animation with four syncable LFOs and dig deep into the mod matrix to create intricate modulation routings. On the effects side, two stereo processors let you dial in lush spatial effects, gritty distortions and classic studio effects—all derivable from the 3rd Wave's master clock for tight rhythmic integration.
