Overview

ARP 2600 Semi-Modular Analog Synthesizer System with 3620 Keyboard

KORG is reintroducing the classic ARP 2600 synthesizer to old and new players. One of the most sought-after models for vintage synth sound, this limited-time production improves on the original with a few modern twists. We at Musician's Friend love that it still keeps the sought-after features that has made the ARP 2600 so popular. If you’ve been scouring bidding sites and local stores with little luck, this is your chance to own a classic synthesizer from the vintage era.

An all-in-one unit with all you need

One of the reasons that the ARP 2600 is so sought-after is that it is a complete sound design studio, all in one synth. It’s got all you need for analog synthesis, with oscillators, envelopes, a filter and amplifier. Plus it’s chock-full of vintage modular features (think ring modulation, envelope follower, lag and voltage processors, audio preamp, clock-able switch, noise source and more). Add in the spring reverb tank and monitor speakers to round out this full-featured unit.

An upgraded 3620 keyboard adds a modern touch

Pairing with the ARP 2600 is the modernized 3620 keyboard. With 49 full-size keys, the keyboard features aftertouch and portamento. Plus, it’s duophonic and can pair with an optional foot switch to lock intervals between notes. The 3620 Keyboard still features the Pitch Bend knob and the Two Octave Up/Two Octave Down Transpose switch. Brand-new to this keyboard is the added arpeggiator/sequencer. This gives you even more user control than before, letting you set your own pattern to be manually sequenced and played back.

Customized control for a sound that’s your own

Streamlined jacks allow for customized patch points. A dedicated preamp and envelope follower process external audio signals. Stabilized VCO allow precise and versatile oscillation.  Fine Tuning sliders in the oscillators and the Voltage Controlled Filter gives you even more control over pitch. Two Envelope Transient Generators and a Voltage Controlled Amplifier round out the features of the ARP 2600.

Vintage synth sound for classic results

Since the original ARP 2600 debuted in 1970, it’s been a top choice for players looking for versatile modular systems in a playable package. With the all-in-one design, it remains a great synth for today’s players.
