The Akai Professional MPK225 is a powerful yet compact MIDI keyboard controller that puts you in complete command of your virtual instruments, DAWs and more. With 25 semi-weighted keys, eight RGB backlit pads, and an array of knobs and buttons, the MPK225 gives keyboardists, producers and beatmakers seamless hands-on control of their setup. Whether you're performing live or crafting tracks in the studio, the MPK225 delivers an inspiring workflow and dynamic sound thanks to premium components and bundled production software.
Expressive Keys for Inspired Playing
The MPK225 features 25 semi-weighted keys with aftertouch, providing a responsive feel for crafting emotive melodies and basslines. With Octave up and down buttons, you can access the full range of notes. The keys are also velocity sensitive, detecting how hard or soft you play to adjust the volume accordingly. For spontaneous creativity, use the built-in arpeggiator to automatically play melodic patterns and rhythmic sequences.
Dynamic Pads for Triggering Samples
The eight RGB backlit pads are ideal for launching samples and finger drumming. Each pad lights up in different colors to provide visual feedback about your playing. Two banks expand the pads to 16 for more options. The pads also support classic MPC functions like Note Repeat for stuttered, rhythmic samples. Full Level allows you to play samples at their maximum velocity with a single press.
Take Total Control of Your Setups
With eight assignable knobs and four backlit buttons, plus three knob banks and one button bank, the MPK225 delivers comprehensive control over instruments, effects, mixing and more. Map the knobs and buttons to parameters in your DAW, virtual synths and plug-ins for an intuitive hands-on experience. Onboard transport controls provide playback of your DAW or software.
Produce and Perform Right Out of the Box
The MPK225 comes with all the software you need to start creating music. Ableton Live Lite is a popular DAW for recording, arranging and remixing. MPC Essentials is a groove production and sample-triggering software with pad maps and sample content designed for the MPK225. You also get two virtual synths: Hybrid three for analog-style sounds and SONiVOX Twist for spectral morphing synthesis.
