About Carl Palmer
One of the most respected and iconic drummers in rock n' roll history, Carl Palmer boasts an exceptional journey fueled by his remarkable rhythmic talents. Hailing from Birmingham, England, Palmer began playing professionally at the age of 14. Over the last five decades, Palmer's professional journey has taken him to every corner of the planet performing, while creating some of the most notable progressive rock recordings in the genre's history.
As drummer for Emerson, Lake, & Palmer (ELP), Asia, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Atomic Rooster, and the Carl Palmer Band, Palmer has significantly impacted the sound of popular music and the rhythmic boundaries within. He was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 10 Greatest Drummers of All Time. With unmatched style and extraordinary rhythmic facilities, he serves the benchmark for a loyal legion of aspiring drummers worldwide, as he stylistically fuses the influences of jazz, classical, pop, and art rock into a signature sound. To date, Palmer has sold nearly 50 million records.
Throughout his career, Palmer has also participated in a number of notable visual art projects. Of recent, Palmer starred in the acclaimed art film, The Solo, with filmmaker Andrew Cross. With his fine art debut collection "Twist of the Wrist", Palmer now adds a new dimension to his artistic journey - rhythm on canvas. And with the visuals of the collection created from his rhythmic prowess, it's no surprise that the artwork breaks new ground.
