Like most companies, Behringer has a story behind it - one that goes back to the 1980s. In that decade, Uli Behringer decided he'd like to be an audio engineer. But, he had trouble finding equipment that was affordable for newcomers. It occurred to Uli that he probably wasn't the only one facing the same roadblock, so he decided to do something about it. He founded Behringer in 1989 to design and build budget-friendly pro audio gear. Today, Behringer PA speakers are a highlight of the many different products they make.
Behringer's approach to making PA speakers is very different from most other manufacturers. They've found that the best way to control their prices and quality is to bring every step under one roof, so they do everything themselves. From cabinet construction to speaker assembly, even making paper for the cones: it's all done in-house at Behringer. That makes their PA speakers incredibly consistent, so you don't have to worry about a thing - whichever model you choose, you can be sure that it's up to the high standards that Behringer's engineers have set for them.
Of course, deciding on PA speakers from this lineup is going to depend on the size of venue they're intended for and the kind of volume levels you want. You'll also need to take into account whether they're for a portable setup or installed use. The flagships of Behringer's catalog are the Eurolive series, including great models like the B210D Active PA Speaker System. If you'd prefer the flexibility of using your own power amp, though, you'll probably be more interested in unpowered options such as the Behringer B215XL Passive Speaker Pair.
The overall point is that Behringer's flexible offerings give you plenty of choices for building the ideal system for your needs. Big or small, active or passive, Behringer PA speakers cover all the bases without breaking budgets. The only thing you really have to mull over is which of the great cabinets here will best suit the applications you've got in store for them.
