User-Definable DSP Provides Precise Control

The SM-5 features a built-in DSP chip that handles the monitor's factory tuning and limiter. You can further refine the speaker's performance for your environment using the accessible EQ, delay and trim controls. There are 8-bands of parametric EQ available, including selectable high- and low-pass and high- and low-shelf filters. You can load multiple calibration profiles to tune the monitors for different rooms, listening positions and target curves.

Premium Components Deliver High Performance

The SM-5's transducers are precision engineered for wide dynamic range, smooth response and low distortion. The woofer incorporates components that reduce magnetic flux modulation, slashing distortion. The midrange is optimized not only for its frequency range but also as the tweeter's waveguide, controlling directivity so off-axis reflections match the direct sound. The 1" aluminum dome tweeter uses a special geometry to eliminate harsh resonances, providing clear, natural highs.

3-Way Design Provides Lifelike Imaging

The SM-5's coincident 3-way design, with a coaxial midrange and tweeter, makes it an acoustic point source for stunning imaging. The dedicated midrange unburdens the woofer, reducing distortion for a musical, balanced sound. Seamless transitions from the woofer to midrange to tweeter enhance on-axis performance. Flexible Control and Mounting Options

Kali's Control Panel software provides access to the SM-5's DSP features. In online mode, you can network all monitors for real-time status monitoring and full system changes instantly. Offline mode lets you update settings via USB, with up to eight profiles recallable from the speaker. The SM-5 mounts with Triad Orbit or other hardware using its 4.25x2" hole pattern. With premium design and 150W amplification, the SM-5 delivers 117dB SPL for full-range mixing up to 13' away.
