The Schecter C-1 line of electric guitars runs the gamut from solidly built entry-level rockers to tricked-out pro models with advanced features like Floyd Rose tremolo/whammy systems and Sustaniac pickups for virtually endless sustain. Long known for their high-end guitars favored by heavy metal and shred guitarists, Schecter originally began producing high-quality necks, bodies, pickup assemblies and other aftermarket replacement parts for established brands like Fender and Gibson in the mid-70s, and by 1979 were offering complete, finished guitars. Pete Townshend of The Who took a liking to a Tele-style Schecter in the early 80s, and Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits used several Strat-style Schecters around the same time, helping to cement the company's reputation for quality and tone.

Today, Schecter is known for producing a wide range of hard-rocking, shred-worthy high-quality guitars and basses in a variety of body styles and string configurations, including 6-, 7- and 8-string guitars and 4- and 5-string basses, as well as a few acoustic models. The super-Strat-like Schecter C-1 body shape with its ultra-access cutaway is perhaps the most popular the company offers, with various models sharing the platform, including the Blackjack, Damien, Banshee, Omen and Hellraiser, among others. One of the newest members of the family, the SGR C-1, is also one of the most affordable, featuring a basswood body with string-through bridge design for enhanced sustain; a 25.5" scale length maple neck loaded with 24 frets; and a pair of Schecter Diamond Plus humbucking pickups for plenty of crunchy rhythm or soaring lead tones.

The C-1 Artist III is a gorgeously-appointed upscale rocker, boasting an arch-top mahogany body with 24-fret set neck; abalone binding on the body, neck and headstock; and a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers with coil-tap. If you're looking to add some whammy to your jamming, check out the Hellraiser C-1 FR, a sleek metal monster loaded with a Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo/whammy system for unsurpassed dive-bombing pyrotechnics, and a pair of active EMG humbuckers with coil-splitting tone switch for truly ferocious single-coil sounds as well. Or check out the Blackjack SLS C-1 FR, another Floyd Rose-equipped beauty, with a stunning flamed maple top, a pair of screaming Seymour Duncan Blackout active humbuckers, and a silky satin finish on the Ultra Thin neck, for blazing-fast shredding action up and down the fretboard.

The Hellraiser C-1 FR kicks things up a notch - with neck-through construction, flamed or quilted maple top, black chrome hardware and body and headstock binding, this screaming tone machine looks as good as it sounds, rocking a pair of active EMG humbuckers, a Floyd Rose 1000 whammy system and Grover tuners. For out-of-this-world tonal excursions, check out the Blackjack SLS C-1 FR, with a Seymour Duncan Sustainiac pickup/sustain driver in the neck position, as well as a Full Shred TB-10 at the bridge. The Sustainiac driver works as a standard humbucker when switched off, and uses electromagnetic feedback to generate infinite sustain when switched on, for huge swells of sounds or long, luscious, legato violin-like phrasing. Most models are available in lefty and right-handed versions, so any way you swing, there's a Schecter C-1 for you. Order one today and get rocking!
