Anyone who's ever built their own guitar will tell you that there is no settling for anything but the best. That's certainly the opinion that Joe Naylor had in mind when he founded Reverend Guitar in 1996. In Joe's workshop, everything has to be done right and there's no room for cutting corners - and that's why Reverend solid-body electric guitars are such amazing instruments. They're the perfect combination between vintage-inspired design and modern playability.
The earliest Reverend guitars were made with mahogany, but in 2007, Joe Naylor made the decision to begin making bodies with korina instead. Why the switch? It's simple, really: korina is renowned for being consistent and delivering outstanding tone. On top of that, it's fairly lightweight. All of that translates into guitars that are lively, harmonically rich, responsive, easy to control and quite simply a blast to play.
Every guitar in the Reverend catalog is a worthy choice, but here are a few suggestions to get you started: for all-around capability that can take on any musical style with ease, check out the Bayonet. This guitar's Railhammer pickups were designed by Joe Naylor himself, and it has the signature Reverend graphite nut to make sure it stays flawlessly in tune. Looking for a little tremolo action? The Bayonet W takes everything great about the standard Bayonet and makes it even better with a Wilkinson tremolo bridge. Maybe you'd like a single-coil pickup option? If so, consider the Reverend Buckshot Electric Guitar. This axe has a single at the bridge position and a humbucker up top, so you can select exactly the kind of tone you want.
In the end, no one knows you better than you know yourself - and that means nobody can tell you, off the cuff, exactly which solid-body electric guitar is the right one for you. One thing that is certain, though, is that you can find a Reverend that'll fit you like a glove. Just keep in mind the traits you want in an instrument, pick out the Reverend guitar that delivers them, and get ready to rock.
