The new DDJ-1000SRT for Serato DJ Pro is the latest edition of pro-grade controllers from Pioneer DJ. Sharing many features of the DDJ-1000, the new SRT version allows Serato users the opportunity to experience the quality and versatility of the DDJ-1000 without compromising on their choice of software.
One of the most impressive features of this controller is the jog wheels. The platters on the 1000SRT are taken straight from the CDJ-2000NXS2’s decks, which are considered to be the club standard all around the world. The full-size jog wheels come with built-in, full-color LCD displays, as well as Jog Adjust, which controls how the feel of the wheels reacts to your touch.
Another feature pulled from the CDJ is the Loop function that’s conveniently located above each jog-wheel. In addition to the jog-wheels, the DDJ-1000SRT comes scratch-ready with a Magvel Fader. These are the same faders that are built into the coveted S9 scratch mixers from Pioneer. These are elite-level features not often found on other controllers.
In addition to the fader, the mixer section of the DDJ-1000SRT comes with 14 Beat FX and four Sound Color effects that DJs and producers can use for creative mixing, blends and transitions. Lastly, this controller features touch-sensitive performance pads, Key Shift and Key Sync buttons, and an aluminum/acrylic-finished top panel.
Looking at the back panel of the controller, the 1000SRT features a plethora of I/O options, including two USB ports for laptop connections, multiple phono/line inputs, XLR stereo master outputs and stereo 1/4” booth outputs. It’s important to note that the DDJ-1000SRT is not a standalone device and requires connectivity with a laptop capable of running the latest edition of Serato DJ Pro. It’s also important to know this controller comes DVS-ready, which allows you to connect turntables or CDJs to the controller, giving you the ability to control Serato DJ Pro using Noisemap Control tone CDs or vinyl.
