As the Winter NAMM 2018 show opened up, Roland introduced a number of exciting new drum products, continuing to bridge the gap between acoustic and electronic drums. Products include their new Noise Eater Hardware, the RT-MicS Hybrid Drum Module and finally, the TM-6 Pro Drum Trigger Module. Let's take a closer look. 

Roland Noise Eater Hardware 

Roland's new Noise Eater Hardware seeks to accomplish one goal: make great, heavy-duty drum hardware that isn't loud. The three new Noise Eater products that they unveiled are the RDH-120 Hi-Hat Stand, the RDH-100 kick drum pedal and the RDH-102 double kick drum pedal. Each of these products features built-in anti-vibration systems which help to reduce noise by 50%. The pedal mechanisms feature a dual-chain drive and a smooth bearing hinge pedal assembly.

Roland RT-MicS Hybrid Drum Module

Roland's new RT-MicS is a hybrid drum module that offers mic'ing and triggering functionality. Out of the box, RT-MicS comes loaded with eight sounds, including hand-claps and snare variations, that you can trigger and use to layer in sounds with the natural acoustic sound of your snare or tom drums. You can even add additional sounds via USB, if you're feeling especially ambitious. 

In addition to triggering functionality, RT-MicS can act as a microphone, picking up the natural, acoustic sound of your drum, which you can then process, customize or add effects to.

Roland TM-6 Pro Drum Trigger Module

Roland's new TM-6 Pro Drum Trigger Module is designed to supplement your existing acoustic kit, giving you access to every famous drum sound you can think of, all in one box. TM-6 Pro comes preloaded with more than 500 distinct sampled sounds, translating to 80 ready-to-go drum kits that you can use right out of the box. Sounds run the gamut from electronic and processed tones to acoustic drum sounds and sound elements. You can import your own samples via SD Card, allowing for further personalizing your setup in order to meet the demands of any gig you have. Independent EQ and effects are available for each trigger, giving you significant control of your total sound. Even better, you can convert your trigger data to MIDI, making it a fantastic product to integrate with your studio.
