The Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay5 Special brings the innovation of the original 1987 StingRay into the modern era. This 5-string electric bass has enhanced, rounded contours on its select hardwood body for greater comfort in any playing position. The sculpted joint of the roasted maple neck provides uninhibited access to all 22 stainless steel frets. At a reduced weight for improved overall balance, this bass is a pleasure to play on stage. The StingRay5 Special's versatile sound comes from its dual Music Man humbuckers with neodymium magnets, giving you more output and a diverse range of tones. A newly designed 18V 3-band preamp allows for extra clean headroom so you can dial in modern punch or classic vintage tones.

Comfortably Contoured Body

The contoured select hardwood body of the StingRay5 Special feels great against your body in any playing position. The double-cutaway body provides unrestricted access to the highest notes on the fingerboard. At a reduced weight for excellent balance, this bass will be a joy to play on stage for hours at a time. The smooth, rounded edges and beveled heel provide enhanced comfort as you play.

Roasted Maple Neck with 22 Frets

The roasted maple neck offers stability and easy playability. It joins the body at a contoured joint that allows complete access across all 22 stainless steel frets. The 34" scale length provides tension ideal for the low B string. The neck has a comfortable 1.75" nut width and is topped with your choice of maple, rosewood or ebony fingerboard. The modern-C profile and 11" radius give this bass a smooth, fast feel.

Dual Humbuckers with Neodymium Magnets

The versatile tone of the StingRay5 Special comes from its dual Music Man humbucking pickups with neodymium magnets. With more output and a wider tonal range than single coils, these pickups excel at everything from deep, punchy modern tones to vintage growl.
